Vodafone launches dedicated healthcar...25 May 2023

Vodafone launches dedicated healthcare division

Operator Vodafone has announced Vodafone in Health – a new division designed to ‘accelerate the use of technology in healthcare.’

Vodafone in Health is intended to be a ‘trusted advisor to the health sector’ and will work in partnership with it to develop technology products and ‘support the delivery of better patient outcomes.’ Which is a rather robotic turn of phrase which presumably means patients getting better quicker and more often.

The new division will work with the NHS and other healthcare providers (both private and public) in order to ‘create the building blocks for change’ and accelerate digital transformation in the sector, which it says will free up workforce time and increase efficiency and productivity.

“I’m really excited to be leading the newly created Vodafone in Health division which will act as a technology advisor and innovation hub for all our healthcare partners and customers,” said Anne-Marie Vine-Lott, Head of Health for Vodafone UK.

https://telecoms.com/521858/vodafone-launches-dedicated-healthcare-divisionKenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04424413314996208873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8243110883198341706.post-72154016933222244562023-04-27T17:09:42.370-04:002023-04-27T17:09:42.370-04:0027 April 2023 update

It is notifying employees in the U.S. and Canada of layoffs and telling Halo users that the device and app will no longer function as of August 1.

Amazon Halo is a wrist-worn health tracker with an accompanying app that uses health metrics designed to give users a comprehensive look at their health and wellness and to provide actionable recommendations in order to make improvements.

The tech and retail giant is providing employees affected by the closure transitional health insurance benefits, a separation payment and external job placement support.

Customers will be provided full refunds on Amazon Halo Band, Amazon Halo View, Amazon Halo Rise and Amazon Halo accessory band purchases made within the past 12 months. They can also receive refunds for unused Halo subscription fees. The company said health data pertaining to the Halo wearables will also be deleted on August 1.

https://www.mobihealthnews.com/news/amazon-pulls-plug-halo-health-tracking-devicesKenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04424413314996208873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8243110883198341706.post-43909828420484877062022-11-03T10:55:41.205-04:002022-11-03T10:55:41.205-04:003 Nov 2022 update

Combined with LifeWorks portfolio, the firm will have thousands of leading corporate clients in over 160 countries, which apparently covers more than 50 million people (or ‘lives’ as the release bizarrely phrases it).

https://telecoms.com/515884/telus-to-buy-lifeworks-for-2-3-billion/Kenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04424413314996208873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8243110883198341706.post-82192939960731492212021-12-22T09:21:31.037-05:002021-12-22T09:21:31.037-05:0022 Dec 2021 update

Presumably in order to make sure the gadgets are properly aligned with real world issues facing frontline doctors and nurses working in hospitals.

https://telecoms.com/512735/bt-hires-doctors-to-bolster-smart-healthcare-offering/Kenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04424413314996208873noreply@blogger.com
